5 North Street is a mid 19th century Purbeck stone cottage under a stone tiled roof. It is located on a private lane in Langton Matravers, a third of a mile from the centre of the village. The village has two pubs, both of which serve food and a post office/small general store.

The sheltered village is set in the beautiful Purbeck Hills and is an excellent centre for walking and the sea. It is a mile stroll by footpath to Winspit Cove, where swimming and snorkeling are possible in summer. Swanage and Studland, are nearby for sandy beaches, safe swimming and water sports.
