his small group of barn conversion cottages are now under new ownership and have been refitted to a high standard for the enjoyment of our guests. The cottages which comprise of Willow Cottage, three bedroom accommodating up to 6 people, Rose Cottage and Ivy Cottage two bedrooms accommodating 4 people each and Lavender cottage which has one bedroom for 2 people.

The Travellers Rest was formerly a farm and then a pub, set in nearly 5 acres of fields in rural Dorset. Situated on the A35 three miles from Bridport and 15 minutes drive from the beach. The cottages have panoramic views of the countryside, Golden Cap and the cliffs of the Jurassic Coast can be seen while enjoying a relaxing barbeque on the patios.

Children can play safely and freely in the grounds and there is ample parking for vehicles. 

Hillview Cottages are easily accessed from all major towns and are on the coastal route across the South of England. The Jurassic Coast is just 15 minutes drive away, coastal walks, fishing, golf, horse riding and many more outdoor pursuits are within a five mile radius. Many more activities are on the doorstep. If your interests are in history or literature then these too are available, but if you just want to relax away the hours and recharge your batteries then there can be no better place to stay in Dorset.

All the cottages are fully equipped to cater for yourselves, each cottage has a bbq and outside seating so nothing could be simpler than to come back from a day at the beach to relax and watch the sunset. But if you want to eat out there are many fine village inns in the surrounding villages or Bridport 3 miles down the road has restaurants, hotels or take away facilities many of whom will deliver to your door. 

Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage is one of cottages converted from an old hay barn and consists of two double bedrooms, open plan lounge/diner/kitchen and a shower room. Central heating to all rooms.

The cottage is equipped with cooker, washing machine, microwave, fridge, toaster, vacuum and ironing facilities.

Satellite TV with DVD player and ipod docking station. Broadband Internet is also available to all properties

The cottage has a patio with bbq and outside seating with panoramic views across the valley. Parking available. This cottage will accommodate four. 

Ivy Cottage

Ivy Cottage is the 2nd of two cottages again two bedrooms, one double and one twin room with lounge/diner/kitchen and shower room. Again fully equipped with cooker, washing machine, fridge, microwave, toaster, vacuum and ironing facilities.

Satellite TV with DVD player and ipod docking station. Broadband can also be accessed. Central heating to all rooms

The patio is equipped with outside seating and bbq and has ample parking facilities.

This cottage will accommodate four. 

Lavender Cottage

Lavender cottage is a one double bedroom cottage with bathroom and lounge/diner/kitchen. This cottage was converted from the milking parlour, this cottage is a bungalow so is suitable for anyone who has difficulties with stairs, it does not have total disabled facilities. It is equipped with cooker, fridge, washing machine, microwave, toaster, vacuum and ironing facilities.

Satellite TV with DVD player and ipod docking station. Broadband can be accessed. Central heating to all rooms.

The cottage has an enclosed private patio garden with bbq and outside seating with views across the valley to Golden Cap and the Jurassic Coast.

This cottage will accommodate two people but upon request an extra settee bed can be placed in the lounge area for two extra. 

Willow Cottage

Willow cottage is a large three bed roomed, two double and one bunk/twin room. A large lounge with satellite TV, DVD player and ipod docking station. Surround sound and video player. Large kitchen diner with cooker, fridge, washing machine, microwave, toaster and ironing facilities. This cottage has a shower room and a downstairs cloakroom. Central heating to all rooms.

Outside there is a patio area and garden with bbq and outside seating. Parking for up to three vehicles.

Willow cottage will accommodate six people.

Please note that this cottage is not graded by the English Tourist Board but has been given an equivalent rating of 3 stars.
