About The Old Village Hall, Stratton
Welcome to THE OLD VILLAGE HALL, which is conveniently situated in Stratton, an Anglo- Saxon village, 3 miles from the centre of the interesting Dorset County Town of Dorchester. The attractive town & countryside, documented by 19th. century writer, Thomas Hardy, offer many things to see & do. THE OLD VILLAGE HALL, dated 1895, originally served as a Working Men's Institute before becoming the local Village Hall. It has now been thoughtfully converted to provide a lovely sitting room, elegant kitchen & dining areas, and sleeps 4 in one double & one twin-bed room. There are 2 bathrooms - one, complete with roll-top bath, is ensuite to the main bedroom. Linen & towels are provided. An outside sitting area & garden is behind the house with adequate parking by the railings in front. Excellent food is offered by the traditional village pub just across the green.
