Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 6 miles to the north of the County Town of Dorchester, West Lane Cottage lies opposite the splendid Old Rectory.

Located in the Piddle Valley, in an unspoilt village amongst picturesque thatched cottages, Piddlehinton boasts a lovely church, the welcoming Thimble Inn and the Millennium Green with children’s play area and picnic tables.  

Our holiday cottage surrounded by beautiful countryside and near to the Jurassic coastline of Dorset, is ideal for a short break or longer self catering holiday. Whether you are a couple or a family, you are most welcome to visit our dog friendly second home.

West Lane Cottage was built from reclaimed materials in the early ‘90s.

It has been fitted and furnished to a high standard and is used by us as a second home - this gives a cosy and relaxing feel not always apparent in holiday lets.  

This charming cottage is well equipped and furnished to make your stay as comfortable as possible. On the ground floor there is a sitting room with large character fireplace, a kitchen with dining area, a cloakroom and a second reception room with a double sofa bed, table, toys and games. The first floor has a double bedroom with en-suite shower room, a second bedroom with twin beds, and a separate bathroom. Behind the cottage lies a small private and enclosed garden and there is parking alongside the property for two cars. A BBQ and garden furniture is provided and there is an outside tap for muddy boots and paws! We are wi-fi enabled and there is an Ipod docking station.

To help you relax there is a good selection of books, games and jigsaw puzzles plus a flat screen TV (Sky available) with built in DVD player in the lounge. A second DVD player is in the sitting room. We have collected many guide books, maps and tourist information leaflets about the area, which you are very welcome to use.

The cottage has oil fired central heating, electric hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, tumble drier, fridge and freezer. Linen and towels are provided.

Please note that this cottage is not graded by the English Tourist Board but has been given an equivalent rating of 4 stars.
