East View Barn

About East View Barn, Melbury Osmond

East View Barn is a cosy thatched barn conversion in a peaceful village location boasting a vaulted beamed kitchen/living area with comfortable sofas and a living flame gas fire. Enjoy summer dining on the furnished private terrace within the enclosed garden. Located on the edge of the village, close to a leafy bridleway which is perfect for walking and cycling. Underfloor central heating throughout and private off road parking for multiple cars. The property has been awarded a five star Gold Award by Visit England.

East View Barn offers almost entirely ground floor accommodation (2 steps from living area to family bathroom/twin bedroom and 2 steps from family bathroom to king/double bedrooms). Open plan kitchen/diner living room. Well-equipped kitchen with range cooker, American fridge-freezer with icemaker and filtered water, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave and Tassimo. Solid wood dining table seating six people, wooden floors, smart TV, DVD player with a selection of DVDs, stereo with iPod dock. WiFi.

Three bedrooms all with fitted wardrobes: king size bedroom with TV and ensuite walk in shower, double bedroom (accessed from one side of bed) with TV and twin bedroom. Family bathroom (shower over bath).

East View Barn can be found at the end of a pretty lane in the heart of Melbury Osmond. Melbury Osmond is a beautiful Dorset village where Thomas Hardy’s mother lived as a child. The village appears in his novel, The Woodlanders as Little Hintock. The village has a recreation ground with a play park and playing field. Guests are welcome to use the smart village tennis court. A walk through the nearby deer park to the historic village of Evershot with its 16th Century pub, The Acorn Inn, serving delicious food and regional ales is a must. The pretty towns of Sherborne (8 miles), Dorchester (10 miles), Bridport (20 miles) and Weymouth (23 miles) are easily accessible, as is the World famous Jurassic coast.
